Simple baby food techniques: Natural, organic, and more
You can save money and avoid concern by learning simple baby food techniques when feeding your little one. Purchasing good baby food cookbooks and making your own baby food can be a great way for ensuring that your child receives the best and most natural nutrition.
Many parents are reluctant to purchase baby food straight off the grocery store shelves. The main concern is the addition of preservatives and artificial flavors. The alternative is often cheaper and more flavorful, and it can be as simple as blending up some of tonight’s dinner. For example:

If you are making beef or chicken for dinner, cook it and separate some before adding any spices.

Separate some of your vegetable or steam a small portion (fresh or frozen) in a tuperware with a little water. Consider adding a brain or superfood to your ingredients-see suggested cookbook section below for information on natural, organic, brain, and super foods.

Then separate your starch (rice, potato), assuming it’s not spicy; or bake a sweet potato in the microwave.

Once everything is cooked, blend with a little water until pureed. Add a little water at a time for desired consistency.

Store in capped baby bottles or clean food jars in fridge for 3 days. After 3 days you need to freeze or throw away any remains.

Peel an apple, peach, pear and banana. Cut them all into pieces and put in microwave with a little water. Cook for a few minutes until fruit is soft. Blend until pureed. Store as above.
When serving your food to baby, separate some into a little bowl and warm for approx 15 seconds. Stir and check temp with your pinky before feeding. You can add a swirl of flavored baby yogurt for variety.
Always remember to check the temp of your food before feeding it to your child. Avoid burning the food or your little one’s mouth by heating in time increments of 10 seconds.
Never feed baby food that has been in the fridge longer than 3 days.
